Traffic lights and social anxiety.
Today was a busy day.
I woke up very tired, which has regrettably become the norm for me since my body has learned to hate anything less than 10 hours of sleep, and stumbled out of the house and to Noah's New York Bagels for breakfast on the run. It really does resemble (I assume) a New York corner bakery, which is a nice change of pace from the 7-11 style express marts of LA. Except there is still the usual anxiety ridden, self-important LA customers, who kind of ruin it.
Stopped by the bank which is way out of my way thanks to the fact that I have to go to a "credit union service center" because I refuse to give up my Arizona bank. I'm not sure why I do that. Then off to work, my once a week single lunch shift, which is pretty simple. Made a few dollars and ran home to clean up and then spent the next hour or so in traffic on my way to a student film audition. Fucking LA traffic.
The audition went alright, nothing special. Its a student film so the process was less than professional, which makes me uneasy, and then I don't do so great, and now I doubt I'll hear from them anytime soon. But who knows.
I finished right in time for rush hour so I procrastinated my drive home by getting a beer and then hanging out for a while at Amoeba Records. I saw a really cute quiet chick checking out the used music DVD's. I always feel that I'm gonna freak girls out if I randomly start talking to them, mostly because every girl I've met who digs that type of social encounter ends up being obnoxious and crazy. Plus I never really have anything good to talk about. Or maybe I'm retarded. Either way, she left without me saying anything.
Picked up Radiohead's Hail To The Thief finally. Their previous release didn't really do it for me so I was never in a rush to grab this one. But I did. And I like it. Good headphone music.
Back home now. Thinking about grillin up some chicken. Later.
