Things that are mildly amazing.

- I wasn’t going to make rent this month, at all. But with a little hustle and some dollar stretching I’m totally cool now.

- Me and my favorite coworker split a bottle of my favorite pinot noir tonight (…if I was rich I’d bathe in it, its that good).

- I’m going down to Del Mar to hang out with my mother and James on Monday. Yay for beach and beer.

- My apartment is exceptionally clean right now.

- I’m reading Cat’s Cradle for the first time and its (not surprisingly) fantastic. I have to fight the urge to read it all real quick; I'm trying to take it all in.

- Warm nights make me unexplainably happy.

- - - - - -

On a separate note, I’m looking for an easygoing, easily entertained person to accompany me this summer on a (mostly scenic) road trip up and down the pacific coastline to see, you know, the pacific coastline. [And by person I mean girl.]

Ok.

Listen.

All time is all time. It does not change. It does not lend itself to warnings or explanations. It simply is. Take it moment by moment, and you will find that we are all, as I've said before, bugs in amber.

This blog's subtitle is from Breakfast of Champions. He was my favorite.

Looking back.

March was fucking great. I’d like to take a moment and list my top ten things that made last month badass.

10) MY MOTHER SENT ME KETTLE KORN.
I know this may seem trivial and maybe a little odd, but I can’t seem to find a place out here that regularly sells that tasty popcorn. She sent it to me without any warning in a giant box. Tell me that’s not cool.

9) 31 DAYS.
After getting all screwed up by February and its 28 days, its nice to have that extra time before rent is due.

8) THE DEPARTED.
Yes, everyone had already seen it but I missed it in the theatres so I had to wait a ridiculously long time for it to come out on DVD. Then I saw it, and it was really good.

7) SPRINGTIME.
There is one month of rain in LA and its long and cold and I don’t have a heater in my house. March was sunny and pleasant and every so often it didn’t smell like asshole outside.

6) NEW MUSIC.
Several good albums out this month including those by Modest Mouse, Arcade Fire, and LCD Soundsystem.

5) ST. PATRICK’S DAY.
Definitely one of my favorite days of the year for obvious reasons.

4) DAYLIGHT SAVING TIME.
More sunshine. I love it!

3) MARCH MADNESS.
I wait all year for the NCAA tournament and even though my team did very poorly this year, and I just barely lost the bracket pool, I’m still a huge fan.

2) CHILLIN WITH T.
My boy Tony finally made a trip out to la la land and we had a great time. Beaches, drinking, basketball and roller coasters. Hell yes.

1) VEGAS BABY.
Gotta hit up the city of sin at least once a year, and this time it was for Craig’s bachelor party. I won’t go into detail (most of its pretty hazy anyhow) but hanging out with good friends and gambling like a fiend are a couple of my favorite things.

So there it is. April’s got a tough act to follow.
